Zinedine Zidane’s son misses penalty and gets sent off for Real Madrid’s reserves
Zinedine Zidane’s son Enzo missed a penalty and was sent off for Real Madrid’s Castilla reserve side, as they lost 2-1 to Athletic Bilbao B in Spain’s third tier.
The midfielder, whose legendary father manages the senior side, fired a 14th-minute spot-kick wide.
He was also sent off in stoppage time for two yellow-card offences.
The 21-year-old is the oldest of Zidane’s four sons and made headlines last November when he scored inside the opening 18 minutes of his first-team debut in the Copa del Rey.
And with his first shot, no less.
However, he has not played for the senior side since, but is a regular in the reserve-team.
Zidane’s 18-year-old son Luca also plays as a goalkeeper in the side, which is managed by former Madrid and Inter Milan star Santiago Solari.
Incidentally, Madrid’s senior side were also up against Athletic Bilbao at the weekend, but fared better than their younger counterparts, winning 2-1.
The win puts them two points clear of rivals Barcelona in La Liga, with an extra game in hand to boot.
Meanwhile, Castilla are currently vying to reach the play-off places in Spain’s Segunda Division B.
