Goalkeepers these days are much more complete footballers than they used to be.
So what would happen if you fielded a team solely made up of the world’s greatest keepers?
YouTuber Rich Leigh decided to find out with his team, Oxford United, on FIFA 17’s Career Mode.
Let’s have a closer look at the line up.
Up front, there’s a formidable strike partnership of Manuel Neuer and David dDE Gea – two keepers known for their footballing skills.
Joe Hart and Hugo Lloris are on the wings, with Bernd Leno and Thibaut Courtois in the middle.
Samir Handanović, Gianluigi Buffon, Petr Cech and Jan Oblak make up the back four, with who else but Jack Butland between the sticks.
So, how did they do?
Despite being a team of goalkeepers, they conceded four in their first match against Manchester United – and failed to score themselves.
Before long, despite a couple of goals from Neuer, Oxford United are languishing at the bottom of the table – with a goal difference of -9.
Then, something magical happens.
Oxford manage to beat Sevilla 2-1, with Buffon scoring a penalty.
Sadly, that glimmer of hope fades fast – and Oxford rack up more losses, ultimately leading to their manager’s demise.
