Mourinho said: “Joel is fantastic and I am going to give him a chance to play in the Premier League this season.
“In one of these last three matches, I am going to play Joel.
“We need three good goalkeepers. We have two good goalkeepers with experience.
“We have Spain’s national team goalkeeper [De Gea], Argentina’s national team goalkeeper [Sergio Romero] and we have a young boy that, for me, is going to be the Portuguese No1.
“Joel is just 20, but he was born in the club and made in the club.”
With De Gea set to start Sunday's big game against Tottenham and another massive showdown against Southampton on Wednesday, Pereira is most likely to make his debut at home to the Eagles.
Mourinho has already confirmed Romero WILL keep his place for the Europa League final against Ajax on May 24.
Swiss-born Pereira has played once already for United - coming on as a late substitute during the FA Cup win over Wigan in January.
