Mesut Ozil can’t resist dressing room selfie with Danny Welbeck after Arsenal beat Manchester United

Gunners kept their slim top four hopes alive with a win over their league rivals

ARSENAL star Mesut Ozil couldn’t resist another dressing room selfie after his side’s crucial victory on Sunday.

Goals from Granit Xhaka and Danny Welbeck inspired the Gunners to a 2-0 victory over Manchester United to keep their slim top four hopes alive.

The victory also meant Arsene Wenger celebrated his first league win over Jose Mourinho on his 13th attempt.

And it was all smiles in the dressing room after the game after Ozil took to Instagram to share the success.

Alongside the image of him and Danny Welbeck, he wrote: “We’ve truly played well today – nice Sunday evening everyone! #COYG”

Arsenal are no strangers to taking snaps of themselves after a win – which has drawn criticism of pundits in the past.

Roy Keane, Jamie Carragher and Rio Ferdinand have all slammed the Gunners for uploading unnecessary pictures after a win.

In 2015 after Arsenal beat Man City, Carragher said: “It’s winding me up – it’s an absolute joke

“It was one giant going to another giant. Of course celebrate, but it’s nonsense all of these team pics in dressing rooms – normally you have them with a cup! It’s nonsense and they need to stop doing it.”

Mesut Ozil’s future at Arsenal still remains in doubt

And it is a stark contrast to Jose Mourinho’s stance after he banned his United players from using social media before big games.

Arsenal fans will now be hoping that Ozil puts pen to paper on a new deal with his future up in the air.

His current contract runs out at the end of next season but is demanding in the region of £300,000 to stay at the Emirates.

Manager Arsene Wenger even conceded that he has not received a single enquiry for the contract rebel.
