Manchester City will only move for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez in January if Paris Saint-Germain make an approach

The Chilean international is expected to move on a free at end of his contract as he has previously rejected a contract extension at the Emirates

Manchester City are reportedly ready to bid for Alexis Sanchez in January if Paris Saint-Germain make a move for the Arsenal forward.

City boss Pep Guardiola wants Sanchez  – but is happy to play a waiting game.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are among the frontrunners to sign him with an Emirates exit now an inevitability.

The Standard reports City are confident of a Sanchez swoop in the summer as they believe the Chilean will see out the remaining six month of his deal.

Especially as they have surged to an 11 point lead at the top of the Premier League, and with Sanchez cup-tied in the Champions League.

With Sanchez showing no interest in signing a new Arsenal deal, said to be worth £300,000 a week, including image rights, City’s main obstacle could be PSG.

The Chilean is said to be on course to pick a £400,000 a week at the Etihad but the Paris club are able to match such a figure.

The 29-year-old could be available for a cut-price fee in January but Emirates chief Arsene Wenger is believed to be willing to let his deal expire.

PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano, 22, has been linked with the North London club as Sanchez’s replacement.

He moved from Mexican side Pachuca this summer after he won the Golden Boot in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Despite his age, Lozano has already racked up 24 caps for Mexico and averages a goal just over every three matches.
