Alexis Sanchez could reportedly be denied a dream move to Real Madrid – because the Bernabeu playing squad do not want him.
The Chilean has surprisingly emerged as one of the La Liga giants’ top targets for the January window, according to Spanish publication Don Balon.
It states that Madrid are looking to bring in a new No9 at the turn of the year and have already opened talks over a switch for the Arsenal ace, despite his previous Barcelona links.
However, the players at Real have wasted little time in letting club chiefs no that they are not keen on his arrival.
And Sergio Ramos has been leading the charge in convincing Madrid officials not to make a move for the 28-year-old.
They are believed to feel that his signing could impact the playing time of fan favourite and the hugely popular Karim Benzema.
Ramos and co are said to favour the capture of someone much younger.
Despite the apparent protests from the playing staff, Don Balon claims that Sanchez is an “old desire” of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
The Chilean is out of contract with the Gunners at the end of the current campaign.
He saw a £60million move to Manchester City collapse on deadline day, and he will be available for much less once the window re-opens on January 1.
And with no Champions League football for Arsenal to cup-tie him, Perez may still make an attempt to being him to the Spanish capital this winter.
The summer transfer window was one the craziest we have ever seen.
