Borussia Dortmund have rejected Barcelona’s bid of £119million for their wantaway winger Ousmane Dembele.
The German club are believed to want at least £138m for the French international, according to Sky sources in Germany.
SunSport reported yesterday how Barcelona were “hours away from completing the mega deal”, but now it appears the German club are prepared to play hardball.
The La Liga club have already splashed £40m of the £198m earned from the sale of star man Neymar to PSG earlier this summer on former Tottenham flop Paulinho.
That piece of news has down like a damp squib with the Barca fans who have bought next to no shirts from the club shop with their new Brazilian player’s name on.
Dembele, 20, has been suspended indefinitely by Dortmund.
The striker went AWOL on the eve of the Bundesliga start as he tried to force through a move to the Nou Camp.
The club said: “Borussia Dortmund has decided to keep the suspension of the player Ousmane Dembele from the team training up until further notice.
“Our focus now is on a concentrated preparation of the team for the Bundesliga opening match in Wolfsburg this coming weekend.
“Ousmane Dembele, of course, has the opportunity to do an individual training off the track.”
