Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic.
The Croatian midfielder was named as a possible signing for the Gunners early this summer and now the clubs are set to meet to negotiate a deal.
SportItalia claim that the San Siro giants are set to offer Brozovic to Arsene Wenger this week.
The 24-year-old has found himself surplus to requirements at Inter despite being a highly-rated player in his native country.
He moved to Italy from Dinamo Zagreb back in 2015 and has made over 70 appearances for the club since.
But despite finding the net on nine of these occasions, his time appears to be up in Italy.
The Gunners have only brought in two additions to their squad over the close-season.
They smashed their transfer record to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon before adding hulking Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac.
Brozovic is best deployed as a box-to-box midfielder but is comfortable in nearly any midfield role.
Along with Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic, Ivan Perisic and Mateo Kovacic, he’s part of a talented crop of Croatian midfielders who are cultured in possession but also possess a fierce competitive spirit.
A deal is expected to be negotiated this week.
