Deportivo La Coruna are in talks with Atletico Madrid over the possibility of loaning Diego Costa until January, according to local reports in Galicia.
The Spain international has been told he has no future at Chelsea and is keen on a return to his former club, but the Rojiblancos are banned from registering any new players until January.
AC Milan and Besiktas have both enquired about loaning the striker until the end of 2017, and now La Voz de Galicia insist Deportivo have entered the mix.
Costa could sign for Atletico immediately and spend the next six months on the bench — but is unwilling to jeopardise his chances of making Spain’s World Cup squad for next summer.
Antonio Conte has made it clear to the 28-year-old that there is no way back at Stamford Bridge, despite a perceived lack of firepower at Chelsea.
Costa moved to West London from Atletico in the summer of 2014.
And Diego Simeone has never hidden his desire to reunite with the striker in the Spanish capital.
He has won the Premier League twice in three seasons at Chelsea.

This wouldn’t be the first time the Blues have sent a player on loan to a club before he joined Atletico.
In 2014, Fernando Torres went to Milan on a season-long loan, before moving permanently in January 2015 and immediately joining the Rojiblancos on loan.
At the end of that season, he officially completed his return to the club.
