Chelsea are hopeful of finalising deals for both Tiemoue Bakayoko and Romelu Lukaku shortly – and are in the hunt for wantaway Leicester star Riyad Mahrez.
The Blues are looking to bolster their title-winning squad this summer with up to six new signings.
Everton’s Belgian striker Lukaku remains Antonio Conte’s No1 target.
He informed last season’s top scorer Diego Costa earlier this month via text that the hitman no longer features in his plans.
And with his expected departure, Lukaku is the man they want to fill the goal burden left by the ex-Atletico Madrid star.
Conte also wants to add Monaco midfielder Bakayoko to his ranks.
The French international is wanted to play alongside countryman N’Golo Kante in midfield.
Chelsea have already snapped up goalkeeper Willy Caballero and are due to announce his arrival on July 1.
And they are set to follow that up by pressing ahead to secure Bakayoko and Lukaku as their next two captures.
Another attacking option that has emerged as a target is Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez, according to the Evening Standard.
The Algerian wants to leave the Foxes this summer and Conte would like to add his talents to his pool of men at Stamford Bridge.
Mahrez submitted a transfer request at Leicester, explaining his “fierce ambition” was behind the decision.
The Blues also want to bring in a centre-half before the start of their Premier League title defence.
Virgil van Dijk was high on the wanted list, but Southampton’s determination to hang on to the Dutchman means it is unlikely that a deal will be struck.
Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is another being closely followed by Conte.
