ZINEDINE ZIDANE has urged Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to land N’Golo Kante, according to reports.
The Chelsea midfielder has had two outstanding seasons in the Premier League, winning back-to-back titles with Leicester and the Blues.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon are reporting that Zidane is a big admirer of the Frenchman and wants to bring him to the Bernabeu.
The report suggests that Zidane believes Kante would be a great addition to his team for next season.
Eyebrows have been raised at Brazilian Casemiro’s disciplinary record this season after picking up 13 yellow cards for Real.
And the injuries picked up by the midfielder have also been a cause of concern.
Kante – who won the PFA Player of the Year and Football Writers’ Player of the Year awards this season – has been essential to the Blues title-winning campaign.
Playmakers James Rodriguez and Isco are tipped to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in a summer overhaul.
And that could make funds available for a sensational swoop for Kante.
It was reported that Real are ready to offer £50m for Kante’s signature, £20m more than what the Blues paid Leicester last year.
But Antonio Conte is sure to put up a fight to keep Kante at Stamford Bridge as Champions League football returns to west London.
The Italian tactician is also ready to spend big in the transfer market and may even be prepared to dish out an improved contract to the ace.
