Happy Monday to everyone, especially Ledley King.
Well folks, the boys were back this weekend in our first pre-season game of the season, plus the transfer train kept on rolling.
Plenty to sink our teeth into. Shall we crack on?
TOTTENHAM TROUNCE THE TRACTOR BOYS
Yes the boys were back this weekend as Spurs beat League One side Ipswich Town 3-0 at the new stadium.
Goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Sonny (2), sealed off a solid performance from Jose Mourinho’s side, which featured almost the entirety of his squad, right down to youth level.
New signings Joe Hart and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg both got a run out, with the latter already looking like a fine addition to the ranks, playing a key role in winning back possession throughout the opening 45 minutes.
The win also saw young Gedson Fernandes fill in at right-back, a role we’ve yet to see him in. Is that Jose’s long-term plan for the Portuguese? We shall see.
The fixtures for next season were released on Thursday and the return of the Premier League crept a little closer.
Spurs, who kick off their season at home to Everton, have a moderate start to the new campaign, with trips to Southampton, Manchester United and a home game against Newcastle in the mix early doors.
The winter months look a little more challenging for Mourinho however, with Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester all on the agenda throughout November and December.
That being said, with none of the big six in our final six games, the Lilywhites have come off rather lightly.

No matter what’s happening in the world right now, nothing will stop Spurs being linked with every player under the sun.
This week, it was the turn of Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is reportedly on Jose Mourinho’s radar as a replacement for the imminent departure of Serge Aurier.
Elsewhere, Spurs were once again linked with fan-favourite Gareth Bale as they always are. Plus, those Callum Wilson rumours just aren’t going away.
LEDLEY’S FIRST GAME
I don’t know about you, but I was so excited to see Ledley back on the bench for the friendly against Ipswich this weekend.
Our new first team assistant seemed particularly vocal with our defence throughout the game, and even took several of the younger players aside before and after the game for some one-to-one time.
I think the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga and potentially Juan Foyth, should he stick around, will all benefit from Ledley’s presence at the club.
