Mauricio Pochettino has been sacked by Spurs with the club sitting 14th in the Premier League table.
The Argentinian has been in the hot seat for five years and lead the North London club to the Champions League final just last season, with Liverpool prevailing in the Madrid-based final 2-0.
But since then, they’ve been in woeful form and have failed to win any of their last five matches in the top-flight, and have won just three out of their 12 games so far.
As well as Pochettino, his coaching staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Antoni Jimenez have also been relieved of their duties.
Despite not winning a trophy for Spurs, Poch guided the club to four consecutive Champions League finishes and has been universally praised for the club’s style of play, as well as getting the best out of attackers Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
However, the club’s recent poor run of form cannot be ignored and has included defeats to lowly Newcastle and Brighton, as well as a 7-2 mauling at the hands of Bayern Munich at the London Stadium back in October.
They were also knocked out of the League Cup by League Two side Colchester.
So who’ll take over at the London Stadium now that Poch has been axed?
According to reports, Spurs have identified Eddie Howe, Julian Nagelsmann and Carlo Ancelotti as possible candidates to take over.
However, former Chelsea and Man United boss Jose Mourinho is the 5/2 favourite according to bookies, with the three-time Premier League and two-time Champions League winner available.
