Sometimes players can surprise you.
Miguel Almiron has been the talk of the Toon since his record arrival at Newcastle in January, nothing but smiles and infectious energy.
Not really the type to put in a potentially career-ending tackle then, right? Wrong.
Almiron was playing for Paraguay in a friendly overnight and briefly lost his head, morphing into prime Roy Keane just after the hour mark.
The Newcastle new boy had only been on the field for eight minutes when he scythed down Mexican Jose Juan Vazquez.
A word of warning… this is a real sickener. A real calf raker and Achilles snapper:
One of the most obvious, stonewall red cards you’ll see for a long time.
It was a typically spicy CONCACAF affair with six goals and five yellow cards to add to Almiron’s red card.
Javier Hernandez started and scored for the Mexicans in their 4-2 win, which saw them go 3-0 up inside 25 minutes.
We suggest Almiron goes back to the drawing board and studies the art of subtle s***housery.
Because he won’t get away with these kind of antics in the Premier League either.
Off you pop, son.
