Hoffenheim are attempting to take English teen ace Reiss Nelson on loan — after he signs a new Arsenal contract.

SunSport reported exclusively earlier this month that he is set to put pen to paper on a new deal at the Emirates after impressing Unai Emery.

And now a loan move is on the cards to continue the youngster’s development, with a stint at the Bundesliga side.

It would mean Germany’s prodigious young coach Julian Nagelsmann is set to work with one of England’s brightest young stars.

The Bundesliga club are so confident of landing him, they even tagged @ReissNelson in on the tweet on the club’s official Twitter account.

Nagelsmann said: “We’ve taken an interest in Reiss Nelson, I can disclose that.

“But nothing is set in stone as there are still things to clear up.

“If it all works out, we’ll have a player with great pace who can do a lot with the ball.”

Nelson played in three Premier League games last year for Arsenal’s first-team, as well as eight Europa League clashes as the Gunners reached the semi-finals.

He was also used by Wenger in the Carabao and FA Cups and is seen as one of the club’s future home-grown stars.
