Salomon Rondon will finally join Newcastle in time for the Premier League kick-off.
The £17million-rated Venezuelan hitman has been a long-term target for Toon manager Rafa Benitez.

And Rondon, 28, will complete his switch in the next few days after being left out of West Brom’s squad for their Championship defeat to Bolton.
Burly Rondon hit 28 goals in 120 appearances for the Baggies and wants to stay in the top flight.
Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle is poised to set the deal in motion by agreeing to move to The Hawthorns.
Gayle was left out of Toon’s final pre-season friendly against Augsburg yesterday, when they failed to score for the third game in succession.

While he does not want to leave St James’ Park, Gayle is expected to go after reaching an agreement with West Brom over his salary demands.
And Benitez could make it a double coup ahead of Saturday lunchtime’s Prem opener at home to Spurs by landing Liverpool striker Danny Ings on a loan deal.
The Spaniard said: “We are trying to do things and maybe in a couple of days we can say something.
“You can think things and may be right but it is too early for me to say anything.”

Benitez is hoping former club Liverpool will do him a favour by letting Ings go on loan.
The Kop outfit have been holding out for a £20m fee.
However, Liverpool may agree to let Toon pay later — if Ings helps them stay up.
Southampton also want Ings and would pay a small fee up front with extras.
But Benitez may put a larger guaranteed figure of around £15m in his offer, subject to the injury-prone striker staying fit.
Ings has hardly played in pre-season following a kick on an ankle.
Yesterday, Newcastle’s 21-man squad to face Augsburg contained just one striker, Joselu.
Newcastle failed to take five good chances and were beaten by Michael Gregoritsch’s 60th-minute header.
Toon are also keen on Paris Saint-Germain full-back Stanley N’Soki, 19.
