If ever there was a reason to not sign a player.
We’re all familiar with some of football’s most unwanted records.
Jurgen Klopp has lost his last six cup finals, Spurs last won a trophy back in 2008, the list goes on and on.
We think we’ve found a record however, one that involves Jordan Ayew, that is the most embarrassing of the bunch.

The Swansea City striker has the unfortunate tag of a relegation merchant. Rightfully so.
The 26-year-old is seemingly a bit of a curse, having been relegated four times in his last six seasons in football.
Awkward…
The torrid spell all started back in the 2013/14 season when Marseille loaned Ayew out to Sochaux in Ligue 1.
The striker scored five goals in 17 league appearances but couldn’t save his temporary side from dropping into Ligue 2.
Ayew impressed enough despite the relegation to earn a move to Lorient the following season.
His fortunes however didn’t improve, as his new club also crashed out of Ligue 1, despite the striker scoring 12 goals in 31 appearances.
The 26-year-old was then snapped up by Villa for around £10million and joined his brother Andre in the Premier League who was playing at Swansea.
Ayew’s spell in the Premier League was a short-lived one after his seven goals weren’t enough to keep Villa in the top flight.
The Ghanaian sealed his third consecutive relegation. Curse behaviour.
Despite doing very little to impress in the Championship with Villa (despite avoiding relegation), scoring just twice, Ayew was signed by Swansea in the January of the 2016/17 season.
He briefly linked up with his older brother Andre at Swansea, before the latter got a move to West Ham.
Ayew failed to impress in South Wales, scoring just once in the league however doing enough to help keep Swansea up, dodging the drop for the second season in a row. Congrats.
His brother then rejoined the Swans in January and things looked to be getting better for the striker.
The Ghanian’s brief respite from relegation was to be short-lived however, as Swansea suffered a torrid run of results towards the end of last season.
Ayew’s side crashed out of the Premier League, sealing his second relegation from English football’s top flight.
Swansea’s drop down to the Championship confirmed Ayew’s fourth relegation in six seasons.
(Jordan) Ayew has been linked with a move away from Swansea for much of this summer, yet a transfer still hasn’t materialised.
The striker is attracting interest from the likes of Fulham and Crystal Palace, for some reason…
We would strongly advise any potential suitors to look at his relegation track-record before signing off on any deal.
