He became the first manager to win the European Cup/Champions League three times in a row, while also landing a La Liga title as well as five more major honours.
But less than a week after the historic three-peat the Frenchman has announced he will be leaving the Bernabeu.
There was some squad unrest in the immediate aftermath of the Champions League final in Kiev with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale raising questions about their future.
But not many expected Zidane to be the first man out of Madrid in just five days.
