Are you watching Harry Kane?
Because this is how to rise above the ‘banter brigade’ and hush the haters.
James Milner has been – fairly or unfairly – branded as pretty much the most boring man alive during his career.
The ‘Boring James Milner’ Twitter account is a well known entity online – and Milner himself has fully embraced it.
The Liverpool midfielder has taken to social media himself in recent weeks and constantly mocked himself in a pleasingly self-deprecating way.
And tonight he went a step further.
Just after Liverpool booked their place in the Champions League final after a pulsating aggregate win over Roma, Milner spoke to the BT cameras.
BT reporter Des Kelly asked: “Few drinks to celebrate tonight James?”
To which Milner, in true Milner style, simply replied with a smirk: “Maybe for some of the lads. I might stretch myself out and have a bit of Ribena.”
It wasn’t the only comical incident involving Milner on the night either, with the midfielder on the wrong end of one of the most bizarre own goals you’ll ever see.
Dejan Lovren’s clearance smacked him straight in the face and the ricochet cannoned back into the Reds’ net.
Fortunately for Milner it didn’t prove decisive over the course of the tie, but he even had time to take the p*** out of himself again:
