Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg kicks his own team mate in the b**** celebrating his goal

The Southampton midfielder kicked his own player in the privates as he celebrated scoring Southampton's opening goal

Jack Stephens will be having mixed feelings towards Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg right now.

He’ll be chuffed that the Dane scored Southampton’s opening goal, but not so happy in the way he celebrated it.

Stephens will probably have to sit very still and apply ice this evening.

Football produces some truly magical moments.

As Hojbjerg wheeled away to celebrate, Stephens went to join him but quickly regretted the decision.

The Dane jumped up and accidentally kicked Stephens in the privates and as most of you will know, that can be incredibly painful.

Southampton were seriously struggling to get a grip on the game against their League One opponents but Hojbjerg’s opener from a corner settled their nerves.

Cedric Soares secured Southampton’s spot in the last four of the FA Cup but it wasn’t an easy game against giant killers Wigan by any means.

The most entertaining part of the game has to be Stephens reaction as he feels Hojbjerg’s boot connect with his babymaker.

While the rest of the team went on to congratulate their team mate, Stephens was left in a heap as he nursed his ‘injury’.

The result gets Mark Hughes off to a winning start in his first game in charge of the Saints.

And although it will be Southampton’s first FA Cup semi final for 15 years, Hughes will be focused on getting them out of a relegation quagmire in their next eight games.

Let’s hope that Stephens won’t be too badly affected by this coming together.

He could do with his starting centre back for the run in.
