Arsene Wenger didn’t make a single substitution during Arsenal’s loss to Man City

Arsene Wenger made no substitutions during Arsenal's 3-0 loss to Man City. Maybe it was the cold

We think it’s fair to say that Man City are better than Arsenal at the moment.

While tonight’s performance wasn’t quite enough to spark Gary Neville off on a ‘disgrace’ rant it was still pretty bleak as City won 3-0 yet again.

Granit Xhaka still looked lost, Danny Welbeck looked liked he could have played for 900 minutes without scoring and Arsenal’s defence looked about as robust as a chocolate tea pot.

But what did Arsene Wenger do about it? Well, nothing really.

Wenger went the entire game without making a single substitution.

By way of contrast City boss Guardiola used up all three of his changes.

There was even a eight-minute cameo from the forgotten Yaya Toure, who looked about as happy to be on the pitch as Wenger was to be watching off it.

He definitely did that for punishment

But Wenger didn’t throw anyone on to try and change the game.

He had Alex Iwobi, Mohamed Elneny and Ainsley Maitland-Niles ready and waiting but chose against it.

His decision didn’t go unnoticed.

Maybe it was punishment for his players’ displays during the EFL Cup final.

Maybe he was just saving his subs from the Beast of the East.

Either way, we’re sure Arsenal Fan TV will have fun analysing it.
