Freddy Adu’s name carries an almost mythical quality in the football world.
So how’s this for spooky?
Fourteen years after making his first-team debut for DC United as a 14-year-old, Adu came off the bench to make his first-team debut for Las Vegas Lights against… DC United.
Las Vegas Lights are the 13th side that Adu’s turned out for during his 14-year career.
He was last seen playing alongside Joe Cole for the Tamba Bay Rowdies, however that ended in 2016.
But the 28-year-old seems to have rediscovered his love for the game, judging but his latest tweet.
Whatever happens with the Lights, Adu will have a little piece of history to look back on.
Adu came off the bench and set up Angel Garduno to record the first ever assist in Lights’ history.
Their previous three pre-season goals had come from two penalty kicks and a free-kick.
How’s that for a quiz question?
For an extra bonus point can you name every club Adu has played for?
Nope, we didn’t think so.
