You can rest easy, Paris Saint-Germain fans, because you’re mathematically safe from being relegated from Ligue 1 this season.
That’s right, following their 5-2 win over Strasbourg on Saturday, the runaway leaders can afford to lose the rest of their league games this season and still avoid dropping into the bottom three.
Oh, the relief.

And it only gets better, because avoiding the drop means PSG can now officially complete the £166million signing of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.
The 19-year-old is currently on a season-long loan with the French giants and had a clause in his contract that stated he could only make the switch permanent once Unai Emery’s side secured top-flight football next season.
We all thought it was a rather odd clause at the time, but there we go.
Since switching Monaco for the French capital in the summer, the young striker has notched 15 goals and 14 assists in 32 appearances this season, helping the super-rich side establish a 12-point advantage at the top of table.
He’s been part of a rather decent forward trio with Neymar and Edison Cavani, although lately his place in the starting line-up has come under threat from the form of Angel Di Maria.
