Man United’s Juan Mata has goal RULED OUT by VAR thanks to wobbly line

There's was plenty of VAR drama in this evening's FA Cup clash

VAR strikes again!

That’s right, everyone’s favourite new system of taking the fun out of football has ballsed up yet another major decision, this time in Manchester United’s FA Cup clash against Huddersfield.

With United 1-0 up and boringly playing out the final few minutes of the first-half, midfielder Juan Mata received the ball from a low cross, rounded Terriers goalkeeper Jonas Lossl and put the ball into the back of the net.

2-0… or so we thought.

As the Spaniard ran off to celebrate, there were a few murmurs from the Huddersfield players that he was in an offside position when he received the pass from Ashley Young, and the decision duly went to the video assistant referee.

So, after a nail-biting few minutes (we mean that ironically), referee Kevin Friend controversially RULES OUT the goal.

Apparently, a tiny bit of Mata’s knee was in an offside position, which is fair enough I guess.

But, hang on, what’s this?

Following the decision, and with the referee blowing the half-time whistle, suddenly this monstrosity graces our TV screens.

This, apparently, is how they judged the decision.

What on earth is going on with those lines?

Are they bent because of the the camera angle?

What is going on?

It only looks worse when BT Sport and BeInSport decided to place their own straight lines onto their TV replays to judge the decision, which kinda shows Mata scoring a perfectly good goal.

Well, this is controversial to say the least.
