Doesn’t matter if it’s the Premier League or the Champions League, Manchester City want to win ’em all.
Pep Guardiola’s boys are some 16 points ahead of United in the Prem at the moment, and quite frankly it’s all getting a little too easy for them domestically.
And it looks like they’re carrying that fine Premier League form into the Champions League, having absolutely dominated Basel in the opening half of their clash at St. Jakob-Park.
After just 23-odd minutes, City were 3-0 up over their Swiss opponents with Kevin De Bruyne (of course) having a hand in the first two.
The opening exchanges looked fairly encouraging for Basel, with City ‘keeper Ederson having to make a couple of his famous risky excursions out of his box to intercept the ball.
But any nerves were settled when De Bruyne’s whipped corner was headed home by Ilkay Gundogan on the 14th minute.
KDB had a hand in the second too not long after, playing in Sterling down the left who picked out Bernardo Silva in the box.
The former Monaco winger then brilliant chested down the ball and sent a lopping shot just out of reach of the goalkeeper.
And the third?
Just take a look at Sergio Aguero’s lovely hit from range.
It’s all too easy really, isn’t it?
