The former Barcelona boss has been tipped to take the job at Chelsea, should Antonio Conte face the sack — while Arsenal could be interested in the summer, should Arsene Wenger step down.

However, Enrique’s previous spell in Serie A was a disaster as he led big-spending Roma to seventh and was widely criticised for replacing Francesco Totti during a Europa League defeat to Slovan Bratislava.

Enrique is the frontrunner to replace him, but Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is also in the running.
