A former Roma goalkeeping coach has warned Liverpool a bid of £44.5million would not be enough to land Alisson, who he claims is “worth as much as Lionel Messi.”
The Brazilian has been superb for the Giallorossi this season, and continues to keep Manchester City No 1 Ederson out of the national side’s starting line-up.
Liverpool and Real Madrid are among the big teams interested in his signature, but they have been told to cough up if they want to buy him.
Roberto Negrisolo told Il Romanista: “He is the No 1 of No 1s. He is worth as much as Messi because he is as important as Messi.
“He is the type of goalkeeper which can define an era.”
Asked he if was worth €50m (£44.5m), he replied: “Are you joking? No, he’s worth much more.
“You can’t even compare someone like Gianluigi Donnarumma with him. Alisson is extraordinary.

“The way he behaves in the goal, he reminds me of Dino Zoff. I’d also compare him to Michel Preud-Homme, who had the class of someone born to be a goalkeeper.”
Roma have struggled in Serie A of late after a bright start, but Alisson, 25, has been their most impressive player.
He joined in 2016 as understudy to Wojciech Szczesny, but has excelled since the Pole moved to Juventus.
