With the Premier League pretty much done and dusted and bogged down in a quagmire of tedious, repetitive refereeing debates, if it’s true enjoyment you’re looking for, scroll down to the next division of English football.
Yes Wolves are almost guaranteed to win it, but they’re doing so with a class and quality that makes you forget that they have been dealt a rather fortunate hand in off-field matters when it comes to their transfer dealings.

Derby County are unbeaten in the league since November and sit second.
Aston Villa have won their last six league games and even went as far as to claim their football was so good it should be illegal.
It should also be pointed out here that Villa’s social media is also the dankest place on football Twitter right now.
If you’d told someone five years ago that football club’s would be announcing goals by calling a player Uncle Albert and an accompanying video of a rotoscoped head of Albert Adomah and Robert Snodgrass, you’d have been rightfully advised to get help.
Anyway, we digress.
There’s no point turning the discussion into an ‘us versus them’ debate about what the Premier League offers in comparison to the Championship, but if it is genuine competition you’re after, the second division is the place to look.
The scramble for play-off places is guaranteed to go to the wire as it does every season, and if the likes of Fulham, Villa, Cardiff and Derby keep up this sort of form, the fight for the final place in the Premier League will certainly be where my focus is come the start of April when Manchester City have officially wrapped up the Premier League title.
Then you’ve got the bottom of the table.
Sunderland are still in the relegation zone, and the jokes about the Black Cats being terrible have gone on for so long now it’s actually just getting a bit sad.

There’s a lot to like about England’s second tier right now, and a lot not to like about the Premier League.
I’ve heard more in the past three days about Tottenham diving than I have about Victor Wanyama’s worldie, which speaks volumes about the level of debate and analysis in the game now.
Do yourself a favour and hop on board the Championship bandwagon, at least until the end of the season. There’s room for all of you.
