Manchester United were pretty poor against Spurs last night, agreed?
Jose Mourinho’s side looked bereft of ideas throughout their clash at Wembley, conceding after just 11 seconds from kick-off and only going close to scoring through Jesse Lingard’s chance, before Phil Jones’ calamitous own-goal summed up their evening.
And it was an especially bad night for Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman suffered his first Premier League defeat since October 2016 and was substituted after 63 minutes by his manager – the very first time he’s been hauled off (without an injury) while United were in a losing position.
The dab-master could be seen frantically arguing with his boss on the touchline during the first-half, and clearly had a problem with the way Mourinho was playing him.
Take a look.
And following his poor showing against Spurs – which WhoScored rated at a lousy 6.22 – fans have been quick to re-brand the club’s record signing as a fraud, much like they did during his difficult first season at the club.
After the game, former Chelsea star Frank Lampard said Pogba should take more responsibility for his team, and follow Mourinho’s (generally more defensive) instructions.
Speaking as part of BT Sport’s studio line-up, he said: “Pogba’s got so many great forward-thinking attributes – athleticism, ability on the ball, can find a pass.
“But if he’s being asked to do that job today next to Nemanja Matic, he has to do that with complete responsibility.

“He has to take one on the chin and I didn’t see him have that defensive awareness.
“That’s why Mourinho brought him off early because he’s one of his prime players.”
This could be worrying for United.
