ARSENAL fans are pleading with the club to re-sign Alex Song after he was pictured at London Colney.
The former Gunners star left the Emirates for Barcelona in 2012.
But now he is on the lookout for a new side after leaving Rubin Kazan following a dispute over unpaid wages.
And a photo circulating on social media appeared to show him wearing an Arsenal top at Arsenal HQ.
Given Arsene Wenger’s side weak 3-1 capitulation to Swansea last night, supporters were quick to say they should try to get the 30-year-old on transfer deadline day.
And many said they would prefer his return over having to put up with Granit Xhaka.
One wrote: “At this point I’d take back Alex Song if that can get rid of Xhaka.”
Another posted: “Don’t mind having Alex Song back to replace Granit Xhaka. Yes that’s how terrible Arsenal have become.”
A fellow user said: “I would take Alex Song back for the rest of the season.”
Another Arsenal fan wrote: “Get Alex Song back in the team.”
This opinion was echoed by another user. They said: “So Alex Song is training with Arsenal at the moment to keep up god fitness. His current club don’t want him. I’d actually sign him up, he was great for West Ham.”
One said: “I would love to see Alex Song back in our midfield.”
Another posted: “Alex Song currently training with Arsenal, has to be better than Xhaka.”
A fellow user wrote: “If Alex Song is training with us, we should sign him. Can do the dirty work better than all of our midfielders combined.”
