It’s finally gone through, folks.
Manchester United have snapped up Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, in a swap deal that sees Henrikh Mkhitaryan join the Gunners.
That’s right, the most exhausting transfer saga of January is over at last.
And as you’d imagine, both clubs have unveiled their new signings in classic 21st century style; with questionable social media videos.
United’s, posted just after 6pm on Monday, is a wonderful, arty little video that, honestly, gave us goose-bumps.
It opens with a close-up shot of a man (spoiler; it’s Sanchez) playing ‘Glory, Glory Man United’ on the piano, before putting on a United shirt in the dressing room and heading down the tunnel to step out onto the Old Trafford pitch.
Check it out.
It’s pretty beautiful, right?
Personally, we enjoyed the expression on Sanchez’s face as he gazes around the stadium.
Arsenal, on the other hand, announced the signing of Mkhitaryan with a rather bland club statement and a fairly basic GIF of the Armenian smirking, while affectionately patting the Arsenal badge on his chest.
Very… very nice.
We’re not having a go, but we definitely think United put a little more thought and effort into announcing their new signing.
Don’t you think?
- Henrikh Mkhitaryan will thrive at Arsenal while Man United may have an issue with Alexis Sanchez
- Man United have lost part of the League Cup and nobody knows it’s gone
- Winners and losers from some of football’s most famous SWAP deals
