Eden Hazard was on fire for Chelsea this afternoon, hitting the back of the net twice in a Man of the Match display against Brighton.
Antonio Conte’s side ended a run of five successive draws in all competitions as they thrashed the Seagulls 4-0.
And it was a dream day for one youngster, who took home the Belgian’s shirt in a heartwarming moment at full-time.
No sooner had the final whistle blown at the Amex Stadium, the two-goal hero took his shirt off and marched over to the applauding crowd.
And it seems the 27-year-old had noticed the youngster’s home-made sign pleading for his jersey, which read: “Hazard 10 – Can I please have your shirt”.
So he made the supporter’s day by handing over his shirt, much to the delight of his families and those nearby.
Nice going, Eden.
Chelsea had shrugged off their poor run of form in recent weeks to make the ideal start on the South Coast – with Hazard leading the charge.
The playmaker made sure there were no worries about scoring goals without Alvaro Morata when he drilled in the opening goal just three minutes in.
Willian made it two when he rounded off a superb team move as Brighton were left stunned by Chelsea’s brilliant start.
And any hopes Chris Hughton’s side had of mounting a second half comeback were ended by Hazard firing home his second.
Victor Moses completed the scoring to leave the Seagulls looking anxiously over their shoulders at the relegation zone in the Premier League.
Interview by Sky Sports after the match, Hazard said: “We started the game very well. We need to do more like this week after week.
“It’s my job to score. Every game I try to score goals that’s why I play football.”
