Alexis Sanchez left out of starting XI for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup clash against Chelsea

The seemingly Manchester City-bound forward will start from the bench tonight

Having crashed out of the FA Cup at the weekend against mighty Nottingham Forest, the Carabao Cup is now pretty much Arsenal’s only realistic chance of silverware this season.

Up against Premier League champions Chelsea this evening, the Gunners will be keen to signal their intent in the first-leg at Stamford Bridge, before heading to the Emirates in a fortnight’s time.

Yep, Alexis Sanchez is starting on the bench.

It’s not really surprising, considering the speculation surrounding the Chilean’s future in north London, with the player expected to complete a move to Manchester City in the next week or so.

Still, it’s not all doom and gloom, Arsenal fans.

A certain a club hero will be captain tonight, and he’s more than willing to fight tooth and nail to win a trophy with the Gunners this season.
