Manchester City may have to up their bid if they’re to secure Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti.
According to reports, Barcelona are prepared to dish out a new contract in order to keep their central defender at the Nou Camp.
Earlier this week, Sunsport revealed that Pep Guardiola was poised to launch a £50million bid to secure the Barcelona defender in January.

The 24-year-old Frenchman has been with the La Liga bigwigs since June 2016 and has a £50million release clause built into his contract.

But with the ever increasing sums of cash bandied about for players, Barcelona are keen to get Umtiti to put pen to paper on a new contract that keeps him in Spain- according to Football Espana.
City already have the most expensive defence in the country but have suffered a big blow with Benjamin Mendy’s knee injury.
Guardiola is now prepared to stump up the cash to trigger Umtiti’s release clause at the Nou Camp.
