Karma is a right b****.
Just ask Jason Puncheon.
The Crystal Palace midfielder has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, according to reports.
But the damage was done while trying to hack down Kevin De Bruyne in the Eagles’ battling 0-0 draw against Manchester City on Sunday.
With De Bruyne leading a City counter attack, Puncheon took evasive action and produced arguably the most cynical tackle of the season.
It left both players in a heap on the floor, although thankfully De Bruyne is reportedly OK after leaving the pitch on a stretcher.
Puncheon, however, wasn’t so fortunate and will now sit out the remainder of the campaign.
The news about De Bruyne will come as huge relief to both anyone involved with City and neutrals who have revelled in his performances so far this season.
The brilliant Belgian has gone up another level under Pep Guardiola, registering seven goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
He’s also the front runner for the PFA Player of the Year award.
