This will be like a new signing for Leicester.
Oh wait, it actually is a new signing for Leicester.
The forgotten man Adrien Silva will finally be able to play for Leicester against Huddersfield today after missing the registration deadline by 14 seconds in the summer.
An administration gaffe on deadline day saw Silva’s £22million move from Sporting Lisbon scuppered as the registration papers were not done on time.
You had one job had never been more apt.
Silva has been training with the Foxes this season but has not played a single game.
Well now the January transfer window is officially open Leicester were able to complete the signing and finally get their man onto the team sheet.
Surprisingly Silva was named on the bench for Portugal in their 1-0 World Cup qualifying win against Hungary, despite not actually playing for any football club.
The saying goes that it takes time for foreign players to adapt to playing in the Premier League and getting used to their new teammates.
But all those hours on the training pitch will surely mean he knows all the moves like the back of his hand.
Otherwise what has he been doing?
Claude Puel will be overjoyed to finally welcome the Euro 2016 winner to the Leicester midfield.
He was bought as a replacement for Danny Drinkwater in the summer but the Foxes have had to manage without him for half a season.
- Liverpool will demand ‘astronomical’ fee for Philippe Coutinho after Nike blunder
- Andros Townsend’s miss against Manchester City will make you weep
- Ashley Young has been banned for three games for mindless elbow
Thankfully Wilfred Ndidi has stepped up to stabilise the midfield.
Silva brilliantly picked the only possible squad number that he could in this situation.
It is like a shiny new Christmas present for whispering Claude.
Let’s see what he can do.
