Ryan Giggs is Mr Hindsight.
The Welshman told Man United to sign none other than Gabriel Jesus and Kylian Mbappe years ago.
Unfortunately his advice was completely ignored.
Giggs told The Times: “I watched Gabriel Jesus play three years ago. I watched Mbappé for a year.
“I was watching them with the scout and it was a no-brainer. It was just like, ‘Get them.’
“It would have been £5 million or something — get them, loan them back — and that’s where the recruitment could have been better.”
Ahh, what could have been.
Jesus has gone on to sign for United’s arch-rivals Man City where he’s established himself as one of the best young no.9s in world football.
He’s set to lead the line for Brazil at the 2018 World Cup having already scored seven goals in just 13 international appearances.
As for Mbappe, the 19-year-old is setting France alight alongside Jesus’ international team-mate Neymar.
The Frenchman will cost PSG £166million when he moves from Monaco on a permanent basis.
If only someone had listened to Giggsy.
