There will be tantrums in the Ronaldo household tonight.

And yet still he was beaten by Messi for La Liga’s top individual accolade.

The self-professed ‘best player in the world’ will not be happy to lose this one.

Messi was awarded the Alfredo Di Stefano trophy which is given to the best footballer in La Liga for the fifth time.

A lot of people will agree that Messi is a naturally better player, but Ronaldo was instrumental in Real Madrid winning the league last term.

Ronny will have to settle for his four.

Could this season be Ronaldo’s last chance to win dominate La Liga?

It didn’t start well with just two goals in his first 14 league games.

A brace against Sevilla got on him on the score sheet again but he will have to go a long way to catch Messi who already has 14 in 16.

Hard luck, Ronny.
