Manchester United outcast Henrikh Mkhitaryan could rejoin comeback kings Borussia Dortmund in a bid to escape Jose Mourinho, according to reports.
The Armenian enjoyed a strong start to the season but the Portuguese has lost interest in the midfielder and he has not made the bench for the last six United games.
The 28-year-old has not been seen since the home win against Brighton last month and ex-club Dortmund want to end his Old Trafford nightmare, reports the Independent.
The Bundesliga side has cashed-in on a number of talents in recent seasons – and shown a willingness to take them back.
Mario Goetze, Nuri Sahin and former United player Shinji Kagawa have all been sold on and re-signed by the German club who can spot a bargain.
The deal could be even more smooth with United interested in a Dortmund player going the other way in defensive midfielder Julian Weigl.
Mkhitaryan moved to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in 2016 for £27million on a four-year deal.
But the move looks to have gone sour as Jose Mourinho and the player were involved in a row during a video analysis session in front of the United first-team squad.

- Jamie Redknapp’s ‘Top 10 passers in Premier League history’ list has caused quite a stir
- Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrogance is what makes him great but it’s also tarnishing his legacy
The Special One was unhappy with his contribution in the loss at Chelsea last month with the Armenian angrily defending himself after the meeting.
Now Mourinho is set to cut his losses on the player who has shown glimpses of his quality in England, but not on a consistent enough basis to command regular starts under the Portuguese boss.
Inter Milan are also interested in the midfield schemer but need to move players out of their squad before it can be boosted by the Old Trafford outcast’s addition.
