Jamie Redknapp has triggered a lot of people with one simple list.
The Sky Sports pundit dedicated his Daily Mail column to the brilliance of Kevin De Bruyne.
However, Redknapp’s claim that the strawberry-blonde Belgian is the greatest passer to ever grace the Premier League has caused quite a stir.
Not only did he place De Bruyne at No1, he went on to list his top 10 passers of the Premier League era.
This is how Redknapp sees it…
1 Kevin De Bruyne
2 Dennis Bergkamp
3 Frank Lampard
4 Cesc Fabregas
5 Mesut Ozil
6 David Silva
7 Paul Scholes
8 Eric Cantona
9 Xabi Alonso
10 Eyal Berkovic
To our untrained eye, the most obvious omissions are David Beckham and Steven Gerrard.
Mostly because we never let a day go by without watching this…
Redknapp’s cousin, Lampard, is perhaps a touch high on the list.
The Chelsea legend is certainly a better passer than your average Prem player but his legacy was forged more by his incredible goalscoring exploits from midfield.
Those that subscribe to the cult of Scholes will undoubtedly be spewing and Berkovic’s inclusion may raise a few eyebrows as well.
What do you reckon, has Redknapp got it more or less right?
Or has he had a nightmare?
