It seems the grass isn’t always greener in the footballing landscape of China.
In January 2016 attacking midfielder Alex Teixeira became the latest player to jump ship in search of riches in the Chinese Super League.
Teixeira joined Jiangsu Suning from Shakhtar Donetsk, much to the disappointment of Liverpool.

But now, nearly two years on, it’s all turned a bit sour for Teixiera.
The 27-year-old has been placed on the transfer list by Fabio Capello, according to Tuttosport.
While Liverpool’s ship may have sailed there is one European giant willing to rescue the Brazilian from his Chinese nightmare.
Inter Milan will reportedly use their links with Jiangsu- both clubs are owned by the same company- to tie up a deal for Teixeira.
The arrival of Cameroon international Benjamin Moukandjo has freed up space for Teixeira to move to Italy.
Inter still have a non-EU place free in their squad so wouldn’t have any issues in signing the Brazilian.
Teixeira will reportedly link up with Luciano Spalletti’s side in January, signing on loan, before making the move permanent in the summer.
The list of Brazilians who have made more than 100 appearances for Inter include Adriano, Lucio, Maicon and Maxwell.
No pressure then.
