Man City are very good aren’t they?
After winning the biggest game of the season we are pretty sure they are.
Pep’s side beat Man United in one of the the most anticipated Manchester derbies ever.
David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi got the crucial strikes in the 2-1 win, both thanks to Romelu Lukaku assists.
And City have scored in every other game except for one this season.
Having struck against every opponent in the Premier League and Champions League, it is a team from the Championship that has managed to keep them at bay for a whole game.
Wolves give yourselves a pat on the back.
The only time they have failed to find the back of the net was against the Championship side in the Carabao Cup in October.
Yes they still won the game on penalties, but Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus came up against a brick wall when the second tier side came to visit the Etihad.
Pep was actually reduced to blaming the ball for their inability to score.
Wolves’ back three formation with 24-year-old Will Norris in goal managed to frustrate the Manchester billionaires, not just for 90 minutes but for the whole of extra time too.
There you have it, a Championship side are the only team to hold City this season.
Let’s give you a little background information.
The Wanderers are absolutely flying in the Championship this season – five points clear at the top and scoring 41 goals in 21 games.
Championship fans will probably call them the second-tier City after their big spending summer.
They spent £16 million bringing Ruben Neves to England from Champions League side Porto.
But, the Championship record signing wasn’t even on the bench against City.
That is some achievement.
Well played Wolves.
