Praise the lord for La Liga subtitles.
Because this season they’ve enlightened a completely different and more personal angle to some of the best players on the planet.
On Sunday, Lionel Messi was denied a clear goal by a dreadful refereeing decision when his shot against Valencia blatantly crossed the line.
Messi’s shot was spilled by Valencia goalkeeper Neto, who desperately tried to claw the ball away – but cameras showed it was too late.
Only the officials failed to spot the clear daylight between the ball and the goal line, ultimately costing Barca victory as the top of the table clash finished 1-1.
Messi and Luis Suarez were understandably incensed by the decision, berating the linesman for such an obvious mistake.
And La Liga subtitles believe they’ve picked up what the duo said.
Messi, after throwing his arms up in the air in disbelief, was desperate to extend communication with the official, allegedly asking if they could talk.
He then tried to reiterate his point, pointing to where the linesman should have been to see the call.
Suarez was much stronger with his response though.
The Uruguayan striker shouted at the linesman, reportedly calling him a ‘bottler’ and ‘midget s***.’
The draw preserved both sides’ unbeaten starts to La Liga this season, but Barca will know it could and should have been a lot better.
