HENRIKH MKHITARYAN could be on his way back to Germany following his recent dip in form at Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho’s warning to the midfielder about ‘upping his game’ seems to have sent an alert to Borussia Dortmund.
Mkhitaryan’s future at Old Trafford seems to be in doubt after Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho criticised his recent performances in which he described as “decreasing step by step”.
Borussia Dortmund have now indicated that they would be interested in re-signing the Armenia forward, according to BBC Sport.

The 28-year-old joined from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of last year for £30m and his career at the Reds has been a hit and miss ever since.
Mkhitaryan has started 10 of United’s first 11 Premier League games so far this season but has failed to impress the special one.
However all was not well when he was dropped after being subbed in the 62nd minuted of the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at the start of November.
Jose Mourinho has shed light on the current situation: “I was not happy with his last performances, it’s not one or two, I am talking about three, four or five.”
“He started well this season but his performance levels, goalscoring, assists, high pressing, bringing the team with him as number 10, were decreasing step by step,” added Mourinho.
“That was enough because the others worked to have a chance. Everybody works to have a chance. It’s as simple as that.”
If Manchester United no longer want Mkhitryan, Dortmund could make an offer for him during the January transfer window.
Borussia Dortmund currently have a history of buying players back, as they did the same with Shinji Kagawa at United in 2014.
The mystery of Mkhitryan’s future continues today as Manchester United take on Brighton at 3pm.
Question is will he start?
