Borussia Dortmund versus Schalke was the wildest game of the season so far

BVB concede four second half goals to draw 4-4 with their Bundesliga rivals, with the home side also seeing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent off

Well, well, well.

Borussia Dortmund have only gone and ‘done an Arsenal’ against Schalke in a remarkable Bundesliga fixture on Saturday afternoon.

Leading 4-0 after just 25 minutes in the Revierderby, BVB somehow threw it away by conceding four goals in the second half to draw 4-4.

But that wasn’t the start of it.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also sent off in the 72nd minute, and Schalke’s equaliser came in the 94th minute after seven minutes had been added on.

Coasting at half-time, it made this tweet from the club slightly embarrassing after they posted it at half-time.

Even worse for the home side is the fact that they are currently fourth in the Bundesliga, with Schalke one place above them in the German top tier table.

Aubameyang put the home side 1-0 up in the 12th minute, before Benjamin Stambouli put into his own net and Mario Gotze scored before 20 minutes had already been played.

Raphael Guerreiro scored five minutes later to all but secure all three points – but no-one saw their second-half collapse coming.

But goals from Guido Burgstaller and Amine Harit gave the away side some hope, before Aubameyang was shown a second yellow card.

Daniel Caligiuri scored in the 86th minute to set up a tense finish before Naldo’s bullet header sealed the remarkable turnaround.
