There’s no doubt Kevin De Bruyne has been the stand-out player in the Premier League this season.
The Belgian star has scored three goals and assisted six in 12 league games so far this campaign, but it is his work all over the pitch that has impressed the most.
But who does he think are the players who have flourished since Pep Guardiola’s arrival at the club?
Speaking to The Times, De Bruyne pinpointed defender John Stones and fellow playmaker David Silva as two ‘perfect’ players for the Pep Guardiola style of play.
On Stones, he said the English defender has improved greatly in the past year, and will become a ‘really good’ player.

De Bruyne added: “He is more secure than he was before.
“Maybe there was a little bit of doubt [in his mind]. A lot of people in Belgium say, ‘John Stones not doing so well’, but I always said to them, ‘He’s an unbelievable player, he’s going to be really good’.
“Everybody forgets he’s only 23. He’s the perfect footballer for the way we’re playing.”
When asked by Henry Winter about whether or not David Silva is appreciated, De Bruyne replied: “Probably not enough. He’s one of the best.”
De Bruyne added: “For me, he’s perfect to play with. We understand each other very good. We know each other’s strong points.
“He’s a very gentle guy, very mellow, and I’m happy that he’s probably going to be here a few more years.”
Considering the City players seem to know each other like the back of their hands, it could be a very special season at the Etihad indeed.
