Robert Lewadowski and Marco Reus are the Romeo and Juliet of world football.
The platonic Romeo and Juliet, at least.
One is of house Bayern Munich and the other remains fiercely loyal to the Borussia Dortmund clan but despite their families’ rivalry, they are tremendously fond of each other.
Remember when they tried to get all seriousness before giggling like schoolkids?
Well, now Lewandowski has taken their bromance to the next level.
The Polish No9 has dyed his hair and now looks more like Reus than Reus does…
The former Dortmund team-mates couldn’t be experiencing more contrasting emotions this season.
Lewandowski has scored 15 goals in 17 games for Bayern Munich so far and his record-breaking efforts in World Cup qualifying ensured Poland’s place at Russia 2018.
Whereas Reus is yet to play a minute of football for Dortmund due to a ruptured cruciate ligament suffered back in May.
As a result he has slipped down the pecking order for Germany and may miss out on next summer’s tournament, just as he did in 2014.
Even just looking at Lewa’s new barnet has made our knees hurt.
Let’s hope he hasn’t tempted fate…
