Barcelona have turned their attention away from Liverpool and towards Man United.
It has emerged that the La Liga giants sent scouts to watch Marcus Rashford and Eric Bailly play at Chelsea last weekend.
Barca representatives were present as Jose Mourinho’s troops were downed by an Alvaro Morata header at Stamford Bridge.
However, Barcelona’s technical secretary Robert Fernandez and chief scout Urbano Ortega were both impressed with the pair after seeing them a close quarters, according to reports.
Rashford has been the darling of the Stretford End ever since he made his stunning debut against Midtjylland in February 2016.
A combination of suspension and injury has hampered Bailly’s season so far, but Mourinho appears to regard the 23-year-old as the top centre-back at Old Trafford.
The Ivory Coast international was signed from Villarreal in 2016 and was one of United’s best players last season.
Man United are not a club that will be bullied into selling their star players and it’s unlikely they would be willing to listen to any offers for Rashford or Bailly.
The players in question can chalk Barcelona’s interest up as a confidence boost and their agents may use it as leverage when negotiating any future contracts.
Other than that, expect business as usual.
