The legendary No10 thought Sebastian Driussi was just another fan when he posed for a photo with the Zenit player

Lionel Messi has posed for a lot of selfies in his life but they miss have been the most awkward.

The Barcelona legend hastily apologised when he confused a Argentina Under-20 forward for a fan.

Messi is currently in Russia with Argentina ahead of tomorrow’s friendly as they build towards the World Cup.

The squad was visited at their team hotel by Zenit St Petersburg forward Sebastian Driussi – a player with 23 Argentina youth caps to his name.

The 21-year-old former River Plate forward couldn’t resist the opportunity to grab a picture with his hero.

The Barcelona star obliged, thinking he was just another fan, not realising he was a fellow professional.

And Messi only learned his error when he saw Driussi’s Instagram post.
