If you’re not familiar with the name Vinicius Junior, then you soon will be.
The Brazilian starlet has been dubbed ‘the next Neymar’ and is all set for an eye-watering £39million move to Real Madrid in the summer.
The youngster agreed to move to the Spanish giants back in June after a series of eye-catching displays in the Copa Sao Paulo – Brazil’s most famous youth tournament.
And in a recent interview with Globoesporte, Vinicius Junior says that he’s already building bridges with his compatriots and future Real Madrid teammates Casemiro and Danilo, while full-back Marcelo sends him regular messages of praise for his performances with his current club Flamengo.
Vinicius Junior said: “I have not spoken with Zidane, but I did with Marcelo, Casemiro and Danilo, about what it is like living in Madrid.
“Whenever I play a good game, Marcelo sends me a message.
“I’m always waiting for that message.”
There’s certainly a helluva lot of expectation resting on the youngster’s shoulders, but he’s seemingly calm ahead of his incredible move to La Liga.
He said: “I’m calm, I still do not think about the time to leave. I still have one more year until I know I’m leaving.
“I’m enjoying this moment living in Flamengo.
“I know my potential and I know how far I can go.
“I am going to work a lot at Flamengo, so as to not only remain at Flamengo as a promise.”
The forward showed glimpses of his ability in the South America U17 Championship over the summer for Brazil.
He was named the player of the tournament and topped the scoring charts with an impressive seven goals.
